Our Musical guest for the evening was D,Rel a down to earth grounded young man, who is also a “Cool Cat”. The type of Brother who puts God first followed a close second by his family. A MAN full of Talent, Positivity and Humbleness. Right from the start the Hostess and He clicked. D,rel, vocalist and songwriter has got it all… the Body, Style, Attitude and Intelligence. His music is real and alive – it has substance and flavor. His voice is captivating. His moves are sensuous and natural. Not only does he write and sing, but he’s a true artist who gives a “Gotta See” performance.
D,rel has traveled through many ups and downs in his personal life and professional career, but because he’s passionate about music and has believed in himself – the remarkable gifts and talents God has favored him with – D,rel has penned that negative energy and the inconsistencies into romantic songs of love and heartache. You can hear it in his voice and live it through his moves. D,rel sings about life with class and a unique style.
D,rel began his career at the age of 2, dancing and singing on table tops entertaining family and friends. But as he got older, D,rel decided that he had a talent that must be seen by the world. He began taking singing and performing seriously. D,rel joined the Ammons Brothers of Chicago in hopes of launching his career. Through this relationship he performed on stage with various artists. He’s also opened for Destiny’s Child during their early years and was privileged to meet the incredible Whitney Houston.
At the present, D,rel is working with several artists such as Destiny Garrett, a new gospel sensation and 12-year old R&B vocalist, Amen and gospel rap group P.R.O.S.P.E.R.. He’s writing hooks, verses and making music and vocal arrangements for a variety of projects. You can hear his work in several songs on R.G.H. Production’s gospel compilation that was released in 2007. And on Total Corruption’s World Chaos CD (released in 2004) he wrote a verse and did a hook for the single “Thank You”. Now D,rel’s working on his own R&B CD, “Relationships” that will be coming your way in 2009.

Carlton Mighty

“I’ve given my life to Christ to do whatever he chooses!” This is the sentiment and message that clearly comes through in Carlton Mighty’s music ministry. As with his debut CD, his current project, Why Can’t I, covers a varied collection of songs ranging from old time traditional gospel, to more contemporary, reggae filled inspirational tunes. And, his musical praise effectively gives the listener insight into his musical training and spiritual background. His spirit filled and unpretentious renditions are inspiring and a marvelous display of his God given talent. Carlton’s vocal interpretations are his own unique blend of Al Jarreau like silky jazz, peppered with tones reminiscent of Aaron Neville’s earthy yet melodic crooning, and skillfully combined with rhythms from his reggae roots.
At age twelve, while still living in Jamaica, W.I. where he was born and raised, Carlton began using his gift of song in service to the Lord. As a matter of fact, he developed his voice and song style in the same circle of church singing groups as his long time friend, Noel Willis, leader of the well known Jamaican gospel singing group, Grace Thrillers. Although, the two attended separate churches, both of the churches they belonged to were congregations that reported up to the larger “church body” known in Jamaica as New Town Deliverance Church of God. Carlton and Noel often sang at the same events, albeit in different choirs, and as a result, formed a life long friendship. After migrating to the U.S. in 1973, Carlton continued in humble service to God at Little Temple Church of God, in Washington D.C. A Deacon and member of the choir, he continues to minister musically at that church, which has since been renamed Shiloh Christian Fellowship and relocated to Silver Spring, Maryland.
Carlton has been married to the former Donna Walker since 1975. The couple currently resides in Gambrills, Maryland and has three adult children who along with their mother are staunch supporters of their father’s ministry of music. Carlton gets his greatest joy from listening to and singing praises to the Lord. He is most grateful to the Lord for the gift of song, which was bestowed upon him. And, has often said, “My mission is to use music to inspire others to lean on Jesus.” Throughout the years, he has performed heartily, held on to his faith and waited patiently for the day when he could musically deliver his message to a wider audience and be a witness to the world of the joy one can receive by simply asking the Lord to “Take My Life.”

Glenn is a beautiful person, I knew this just as soon as I had spoken to him for 5 minutes. He is the type of person who will help first and ask the questions later. He is a talented Musician, Song Writer (his music is played in rotation on WDGP radio) and Composer. He is the owner of his own Independent Record Label and an Inventor. He became involved in the copyright business because of a happening in his own life. Instead of getting mad, he decided to get even but not only educating himself, but educating others as well.
Glenn has been at this 30 years or more. Now it has evolved into a way to help others make money as well. All it takes is some of their time, no money from there pocket, and they can profit from each person that attends [that] seminar.
