Courtney E
Born and raised in the Los Angeles, Courtney E. possessed a great love for music. As a
teenager, she discovered Hip-Hop which soon became her passion. Overtime, Courtney E.
developed her rapping skills and emerged as a true emcee. Her influences include great
artists such as Lauryn Hill, Common, Nas, Lupe Fiasco, The Roots, Kanye West, and the
Fugees. These inspirations drive her to create music that is both authentic and evokes
change within today’s hip hop era and culture.
Courtney E.’s performances comprise of various showcases and concerts at Gardena High
School’s Talent Show, Mixed Nuts New Artist Showcase hosted by Star Strucc Entertainment,
Terrace Entertainment Center hosted by Star Strucc Entertainment New Artist Showcase,
Jack and Jill of America, Inc. South Los Angeles Chapter Fashion Show, Verbum Dei High
School Summer Program (MTRC) Making The Right Connection, First Fridays open
mic/barbershop located in Chatsworth, Transfiguration Catholic Church Revival, and the
Young Black Scholars graduation celebration event.
Courtney E.’s notes that it is her Christian faith and foundation in God, which is the catalyst
for her musical and spiritual growth. She dedicates herself as God’s instrument used to
reach millions through music. The lyrical content of Courtney E.’s music challenges the commercialism
and stereotypical views within Hip-Hop that focuses on materialism and degrading
women.
She continues to work diligently to hone her craft. Courtney E. move crowds through her
stage presence, where she gives her all leaving her fans well pleased. With faith and determination,
this emcee is purposed to elevating the current condition of Hip-Hop.
